Studieninformationstage – an Event for Prospective UZH Students
Orientation events are a tried and tested way to help future students choose the right field of study. To help young people make a good decision, the University of Zurich holds a two-day event for prospective students every September on the Wednesday and Thursday of calendar week 36.
We invite all prospective students to come to the University of Zurich – Switzerland's largest university – to learn about the over 100 programs of study offered at our institution.
At the exhibition in the main building, UZH introduces its seven faculties – as well as the many departments and divisions – with lectures, presentations, and special events:
- An exhibition is spread out over four floors in the University's main building and provides an overview of all study programs at UZH. – Opening hours: 9:00am to 4:00pm
- Presentations on degree programs are held in the lecture halls. Prospective students can get a better idea of what individual subjects entail, including information on content, curriculum, and job perspectives. – Presentations at 9:45am, 11:45am, 1:30pm, and 2:45pm
- Lectures are also held to give prospective students a realistic impression of a university course. – Lectures at 9:45am, 11:45am, 1:30pm, and 2:45pm
- Special events – for example, tours of labs, experiments, visits to museums – offer an in-depth look into individual fields of study.
The program's prospect (in German) has more information on events and schedules. – The prospect is handed out at the event, or you can see it at the beginning of September here.
The event is mainly for Swiss students at Matura schools, but we welcome anyone who is interested in studying at UZH.
Swiss students register in the months May and June at their school. All other prospective students should register here.
Proficiency in German
In general, students at UZH must have proficiency in German. That is why most information about the Studieninformationstage is available only in German. But if you don't speak good German yet, many people at UZH speak English and will be happy to help you out at the event.
More information on language requirements and language courses is available here.
